Corn for Sale!
Please support the Parents Club of Troop 31's Corn Sale! There are lots of ways to do so...
Saturday at 6 pm - come do some picking with us! Message someone that your are willing & able, we'll get you the field location;
Sunday morning & afternoon - work a shift at the booth or if the corn is selling out, more corn could be picked to sell;
Come buy some corn Sunday afternoon; and last but not least
Encourage your friends, family, neighbors to buy some corn. We plan to set up across from Giant Eagle near the laundry mat.
This variety of corn is said to be luscious which is known to be good for freezing.

Joy Cone Tour & Pack Camp Out Email
I spoke with the Joy Cone Company and finalized the whole tour plan. I apologize for the late notice; however, there have been some personnel changes within the company since I first started planning the trip. Also I wanted to make sure that the information was 100% correct before forwarding it to the pack.
We will be meeting at the church (1st United Methodist) at 1:15 and will be leaving there at exactly 1:30. From the church we will be driving to the Sheetz Gas Station in Hermitage, PA near the cone factory. At the gas station we will be using the restrooms as the factory does not have public restrooms that are available to us. After the restroom breaks we will be going to the factory. (3435 Lamor Road, Hermitage, PA 16148, (724) 962-5747) We will have a brief introduction then split into 2 groups based on age. The older children will get a more technical tour while the younger children will get a tour that is more age appropriate. The tours will be about 5 minutes apart. Due to the nature of the tour younger siblings will not be permitted into the production area, however may wait in the lobby during the factory tour.
The rules from Joy Cone are as follows:
1. Hair nets must be worn in production area.
2. All jewelry and wrist watches are to be removed ( a plain wedding band is permitted)
3. Leave handbags and backpacks in the car or lobby
4. No open toe shoes (sandals, flip flops, etc.)
5. No cameras in the production area.
6. Must stay with the tour guide.
7. No items in any pockets above the waist.
8. Restrooms ARE NOT open to the public.

Following the tour we will return to the New Life Christian Fellowship (2088 Tibbetts Wick Road, Girard, Ohio 44420) where we will have a campout. Bring sleeping bags, tents, weather appropriate clothes, and sports gear balls bats gloves... The pack will provide the hot dogs, drinks and snack. The following morning the church's men's group will be making us breakfast!!! If you can not or choose not to spend the night at the campout feel free to come and enjoy the event and go home for bed.
As always any questions email, text or call either Tom or myself (330) 502-1687

The Harlem Globetrotters!
Scouts who participated in the popcorn sale earned a ticket to watch a performance by the world famous Globetrotters. A great time was had by all, especially since Mr. Johnson had connections to the courtside seating!

This summer we set up our derby track at the car show. We had a great time racing our cars and enjoying the festivities of the day.

Parents Club of Troop 31
The Parents Club of
Troop 31 started as a fundraising support group for Boy Scout Troop 31
but has since expanded to include our Cub Scout pack, Girl Scouts, a Relay for Life team, various sports and a
church youth group. Members participate in club fundraisers and as their
particular group needs funds for a project, field trip, sponsorship etc., they can
submit a request to the club. Parent's club currently meets at 7:30 on the first Sunday of the month. All are welcome to join us!
Welcome
For the 2013/2014 year, our cub scout meetings will be held Mondays, 6:30 at the First United Methodist Church. The church is located in North Crandon near Stevens Park.
